Dr. Deepa Sharma is presently serving as Research Officer (Ay.) at the Central Ayurveda
Research Institute (CARI), Jhansi, under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences
(CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. She is also an experienced Ayurveda
academician with over five years of teaching and academic experience as Assistant Professor
and Associate Professor in Rog Nidan.
Since joining CCRAS in 2017, she has served at various CCRAS institutes, including CARI,
Patiala and RARI, Gwalior, and has contributed substantially to the planning, execution, and
scientific conduct of intramural clinical research and public health research projects as Principal
Investigator and Co-Investigator. She has also been entrusted with important institutional
responsibilities, including Clinical Laboratory In-charge and Co-Incharge of OPD/IPD services,
reflecting her experience in clinical, laboratory, and institutional activities.
She is currently engaged in drug standardization and ethno-botanical survey projects, with a
focus on systematic scientific evaluation, quality assurance, documentation of traditional
knowledge, and strengthening the evidence base of Ayurveda. She has completed seven projects
till now as Principal Investigator. Her diverse experience spanning academics, clinical services,
research, and institutional responsibilities has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding
of Ayurvedic research methodologies, clinical research processes, and institutional research
management.
