Dr. Indu P. P. is a postgraduate in Śalyatantra from Government Ayurveda College, Tripunithura, and a graduate of VPSV Ayurveda College, Kottakkal. She began her professional career as an Assistant Professor in Śalyatantraat MVR Ayurveda Medical College, Parassinikadavu.
She joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) in 2017 as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the MS Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Endocrine Disorders (MSRARIED), Jaipur, Rajasthan. In 2021, she was transferred to the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma (NARIP), Cheruthuruthy, Kerala, where she is presently serving as a Research Officer.
Dr. Indu has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) of three ongoing and four completed Intramural Research (IMR) projects of CCRAS. She has also been actively involved in the Council’s community outreach programmes, including the Tribal Health Care Research Programme (THCRP) in 2017 and theAyurveda Mobile Health Care Programme–Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (AMHCP-SCSP) from 2023 onwards. She is currently serving as the Principal Investigator of the AMHCP-SCSP outreach programme and three ongoing Intramural Research projects.
She served as Minor OT In-charge at MSRARIED, Jaipur, from 2018 to 2021. At NARIP, Cheruthuruthy, she has served as Programme Officer for the Panchakarma Technician Course (PTC) during 2023–2024, Internship In-charge during 2022–2023, and Co-Programme Officer for the Certificate Course in Marma Chikitsa and Chikitsa (CCMC) from 2022 onwards. She is presently serving as Medical Records Department (MRD) In-charge for NABH-related activities and Minor OT (PT) In-charge at NARIP, Cheruthuruthy. She is also associated with the eSanjeevani OPD service of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, as a consulting physician. She has contributed to the scientific literature through nine research articles and two book chapters published at the national level. Her major areas of research interest include public health research, advanced technological applications in Śalyatantra, and mechanistic and clinical research on traditional Ayurvedic surgical and para-surgical procedures, with a focus on integrating evidence-based research methodologies with classical Ayurvedic principles.
