Dr. Rajesh Bolleddu is currently serving as a Research Officer (Pharmacognosy) and Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.
He joined CCRAS on 09 th January 2017 at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Kolkata.
His primary responsibilities include the pharmacognostical evaluation, identification,
authentication, and quality assessment of single Ayurvedic drugs and compound Ayurvedic
formulations.
Dr. Bolleddu has been actively involved in Intramural Research (IMR), Extramural Research
(EMR), and collaborative research projects, serving as Principal Investigator and Co-
Investigator. He has been contributing to Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL) and National
Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) activities of the
Department of Pharmacognosy.
He has published 58 scientific research papers in indexed journals and has contributed to 02
pharmacopoeial monographs published by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.
He has completed his M. Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Osmania
University, Hyderabad. He qualified in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
and was awarded the AICTE-GATE Postgraduate Scholarship for the period 2007–2009.
Prior to joining CCRAS, he served as an Assistant Professor at Vikas College of
Pharmaceutical Sciences, Suryapet, Telangana, from November 2009 to December 2016,
gaining over seven years of teaching and academic experience.
His professional interests and expertise include pharmacognostical evaluation and
authentication of Ayurvedic drugs, quality control of herbal medicines, pharmacopoeial
standardization, and research in medicinal plants and Ayurvedic formulations.
