Dr. Suparna Saha is currently serving as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Kolkata, under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Her primary responsibilities include coordinating IMR/EMR/Collaborative projects, managing hospital duties as a general physician in both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) settings, and contributing to drug development.
Dr. Saha earned her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) from J.B. Roy State Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, during the period of 2008-2014. She went on to complete her M.D. (Ayurveda) in Rasashastra and BhaishajyaKalpana from the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, under Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur, from 2015-2018.
In January 2021, Dr. Saha joined the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Kolkata, as a Research Officer (Ayurveda). Her research focuses on developing quality standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and pharmacopeial standards for ASU (Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani) drugs. She is actively involved in various research projects, serving as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator. To date, she has completed one project as Principal Investigator and has two ongoing projects.
Dr. Saha’s research interests are primarily in Ayurvedic drug standardization, the development of newer and modified dosage forms of Ayurveda, the formulation of anti-diabetic herbomineral drugs, and the preclinical study of certain Bhasmas. She has participated in numerous training programs under CCRAS.
She has published over 16 research papers in national and international journals and contributed two book chapters to national and international publications. Additionally, she has presented 20 scientific papers at international seminars and conferences, attended around 40 conferences, workshops, and webinars.
Dr. Saha is a lifetime member of Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad.
