Dr. Rajeshwari Singh holds an M.D. in Ayurveda (Ayurveda Pharmacology) from the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, Rajasthan. With a strong foundation in traditional medicine, health policy, and research, she has contributed extensively to policy development, global health cooperation, and innovation in integrative health systems.
She served as Officer on Special Duty (Technical) in the Office of the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, where she played a key role in shaping strategic policy briefs and national initiatives across the Ayush sector. Her work spanned critical domains including international cooperation, engagement with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Forum of Indian Traditional Medicine (FITM), the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and NITI Aayog.
Dr. Singh has been an active contributor to the formulation of major government policies and regulatory frameworks for the Ayush sector. She served as a Member of the Pharmacopoeia Committee of the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H), Member Secretary for Ayurveda Aahaar under FSSAI’s regulatory framework, and Member Secretary for Integrative Health Policy at NITI Aayog.
Representing the Government of India, she has participated in several bilateral and multilateral platforms, advancing India’s engagement in traditional medicine and global health diplomacy. She has also served as a task force member for the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (WHO-GCTM), nodal officer for GCTM coordination, and focal point for the G20 from the Ministry of Ayush.
Dr. Singh was also an integral member of the Ministry of Ayush’s Interdisciplinary Research and Development Task Force, contributing to the design, implementation, and dissemination of COVID-19 research and evidence-based Ayush interventions. Notably, she played a key role in the development of the “Mitigation and Management of COVID-19: Compendium of Ayush-based Practices” published by NITI Aayog.
With extensive research experience, Dr. Singh has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and books. Her current work focuses on advancing responsible artificial intelligence in health, digital health governance, and global partnerships for strengthening health systems and innovation.
