Dr. Shrawan Kumar Sahu completed his B.A.M.S. from Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.), Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, in 2006. He subsequently completed his M.S. (Ay.) in Shalakya Tantra from the National Institute of Ayurveda (N.I.A.), Jaipur, Rajasthan Ayurveda University, Jodhpur, in 2011, and his Ph.D. from Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar, in 2015. Thus, he has had the opportunity to gain academic knowledge and training from three prestigious institutes of India.
Professional Experience
Dr. Shrawan Kumar Sahu initiated his professional career as a Lecturer in the Department of Shalakya Tantra at Himalaya Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, where he served from October 2011 to December 2012.
He subsequently worked as an Assistant Professor at Patanjali Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, from January 2015 to January 2017.
From January 2017 to February 2023, he served as a Research Officer at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Gangtok, Sikkim. He is presently posted at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi.
Research Experience and Contributions
Dr. Shrawan Kumar Sahu has been involved in around 20 different research projects as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator. His research experience encompasses clinical research, community-based studies, cross-sectional studies, Ayurveda mobile healthcare programmes, profiling of demographic and health-related parameters, and studies evaluating Ayurvedic interventions.
Books and Book Chapters
Dr. Sahu has authored a book entitled “NUTAN NETRA- ROGA VIGYAN”, published in 2017 by Shivank Prakashan, Daryaganj, New Delhi-110002 (ISBN: 978-93-83980-91-8).
He has also authored a book chapter entitled “Role of Ayurveda in Managing Tinnitus” in the book “Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences” (Volume 6), published in 2022 by Innovare Academic Sciences Pvt. Ltd., pages 281–291.
Publications and Academic Contributions
Dr. Sahu has more than 25 authored/co-authored articles published in different peer-reviewed and indexed journals. He has also contributed as a reviewer for a CCRAS journal.
In addition, he has served as an examiner for conducting the Ph.D. viva voce at the University of Patanjali, Haridwar.
