Mr. Thirupataiah B. is a researcher and quality professional working in the field of Ayurvedic drug research, phytochemistry, herbal drug standardization and analytical quality control. He is involved in the scientific evaluation, authentication, standardization and quality assessment of medicinal plants, raw drugs and Ayurvedic/AYUSH formulations.
He serves as Quality Manager for Chemical Testing of AYUSH Drugs under the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 quality management framework, with responsibilities related to laboratory quality systems, analytical testing, method implementation, quality assurance and technical documentation. His work contributes to maintaining the reliability, accuracy, traceability and consistency of chemical testing and analytical results.
His areas of technical expertise include TLC/HPTLC and HPLC method development and validation, chromatographic fingerprinting, phytochemical profiling, marker-based estimation and quantification, raw-drug authentication, quality control of herbal medicines, and stability/shelf-life evaluation of Ayurvedic formulations.
His research integrates traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern analytical and pharmaceutical sciences to establish scientific evidence for the identity, purity, quality, consistency and reproducibility of herbal drugs and formulations. He is particularly interested in developing analytical methods and quality-control parameters that can support the standardization and scientific validation of Ayurvedic medicines.
His research activities include phytochemical profiling and quality control of Ayurvedic formulations, comparative evaluation of medicinal plant sources, development of TLC/HPTLC fingerprints, HPLC-based marker estimation, analytical method validation, and stability studies. He is also interested in the development of novel and improved herbal dosage forms with potential applications in areas such as orthopaedic care and wound healing.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Mr. Boini obtained his M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and B.Ed, from Osmania University, Hyderabad, where he developed a strong foundation in chemical sciences and analytical methodologies. His academic excellence led him to qualify for several prestigious national examinations, including GATE (2013, 2019), CSIR-JRF (2014), CSIR-NET (2015), UGC-JRF (2017), and SLET (2013) in Chemical Sciences.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Boini has accumulated rich experience across academia and research institutions:
- Assistant Professor (Chemistry) – Sree Datta Institute of Engineering & Science, Hyderabad (2013–2014),
- Laboratory Assistant (Chemistry) – National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela (2016–2017),
- Laboratory Technician (Chemistry) – Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati (2017–2021).
Since 2021, he has been contributing significantly to the CCRAS as a Research Officer, playing a key role in the establishment analytical methods by HPLC and HPTLC and NABL accreditation of the Quality Control Laboratory for AYUSH drugs at NARIP.

RESEARCH AND PROJECTS
Mr. Boini is currently the Principal Investigator for 01 projects and Co-Investigator for 05 IMR projects funded by CCRAS, New Delhi. He has successfully completed 08 IMR projects as Principal/Co-Investigator.
His research focuses on the scientific standardization and quality assurance of Ayurvedic and herbal medicines through advanced analytical and phytochemical approaches.
His work includes the development of HPTLC and HPLC fingerprint profiles, validated chromatographic methods, marker-based quantification, comparative phytochemical evaluation of medicinal plants, formulation standardization and stability assessment.
A significant component of his research involves establishing scientifically robust analytical approaches for polyherbal Ayurvedic formulations and medicinal plants, thereby supporting their identity, purity, consistency, quality and reproducibility.
His research has also explored the application of modern analytical technologies to traditional medicines, including HPTLC/HPLC-based standardization, phytochemical characterization, bioactive marker quantification and ICH-guided approaches to quality and shelf-life assessment.

His research vision is to strengthen the scientific foundation of Ayurveda and AYUSH medicines by integrating traditional knowledge with modern analytical technologies and internationally recognized laboratory quality practices.

Through this approach, his work aims to contribute to the development of safe, consistent, reproducible and scientifically validated Ayurvedic medicines and to strengthen quality-control systems for herbal and AYUSH products.
