Dr. Akashlal M is serving as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, New Delhi. His primary responsibilities include the implementation of IMR/Collaborative projects and the management of the outpatient department (OPD).
He earned his BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree from the Government Ayurveda College, Kannur, followed by a postgraduate MD degree in Kayachikitsa from the Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. He commenced his professional career in 2012 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kayachikitsa at MVR Ayurveda College, Parassinikkadavu, Kannur.
In 2017, Dr. Akashlal M joined CCRAS as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma, Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur. His research interests are focused on Metabolic Disorders, Prakriti, Epigenetics, and Neurodegenerative Disorders. During 2018-19, he was also deputed to the Ministry of AYUSH.
Dr. Akashlal M has played a key role as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in various IMR/Collaborative Research projects, having successfully completed more than five projects, with three currently ongoing under his supervision. He has participated in numerous training programs organized by ICMR, IIPH, and NABH. Additionally, he has published over ten research papers in national and international journals, presented three scientific papers at international seminars/conferences, and attended more than 11 national and international seminars/workshops.
