Dr. Banamali Das is presently working as Research Officer, In-charge and Head of the Clinical Laboratory Section at the CCRAS-Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Patna. He is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination and effective functioning of the Institute, including administrative, technical, clinical and research activities.
He completed his B.A.M.S. degree from Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Puri, Odisha M.D. (Ayurveda-Roganidana &VikrutiVijnana) from Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (I.P.G.T.& R.A.), Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar and Ph.D. (Ayurveda-Roganidan) from Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan Rajasthan (D.S.R.R.) Ayurveda University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He started his career as Lecturer & Assistant Professor in Aroor Laxmi Narayan Rao (A.L.N.R.) Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital, Koppa, Karnataka in the year 1999 and having teaching experience of about 07 years for both Under Graduate & Post Graduate students.
He joined initially in the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush in the year 2006, as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at R.R.A. Poddar Central Ayurveda Institute, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Then he has served as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at CCRAS Head Quarter, New Delhi from 2007 to 2010, Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Bhubaneswar from 2010 to 2026 and currently he is working at CCRAS-RARI, Patna. His research focused on Clinical, Fundamental and Literary research.
He is also actively involved in various administrative, research, clinical and programme-related activities of the Institute and undertakes such responsibilities as may be assigned by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India from time to time.
He has been actively involved in IMR /Collaborative Research projects as Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator viz completed about more than 15 projects. He was involved in about 05 projects as Nodal Officer during working at CCRAS Head Quarter, New Delhi.
He has participated in various training programmes viz. validation of Prakriti Assessment Questionnaire, Training programme on ASU & H Drug Regulators, Training on Quality Management System and Internal Auditor Training Course as per ISO-15189:2012 etc.
He has published more than 43 research papers in International / National Journals, 08 Manographs. Additionally, he has also attended 30 International Seminar/Webinar/ Workshop / Conference.
He is a recognized Guide for Ph.D. (Ayurveda) scholars and member of Departmental Research Committee (DRC) under Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha and working as Supervisor/Co-Supervisor of 05 Ph.D. (Ayurveda) scholars. He is also a reviewer of the Journal of Researches in Ayurvedic Sciences (J.R.A.S.).
