  • Dr. Ch. VenkataNarasimhaji, M.Sc. Ph.D. is an organic chemist currently serving as the Assistant Director (Chemistry) at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) Kolkata, under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. With over 16 years of extensive research experience, Dr.Ch V Narasimhaji has significantly contributed to the fields of Drug Standardization and Quality control of raw drugs such raw botanicals, Metals and minerals used in ASU systems to develop “ ICMR: Quality Standards of Indian Medicinal Plants”; DST-NIF: Quality standards Indian Indigenous Medicinal plants; Botanical reference standards (BRS) though the National Raw Drug Repository sponsored by NMPB and Isolation of PRS [Primary reference standards] and development of marker compound library for in-house Research use of CCRAS.

As a HOD-Chemistry, Conceptualization Projects and supervisor of the laboratory for Standardization, Quality control and Assurance of Raw plant botanicals and raw materials/minerals, herbal drugs under AYUSH. Isolation of PRS and Characterization etc.,

As a Head of institution CCRAS-CARI, Jhansi and as CEO & Quality Manager, maintain the laboratories as per as per ISO /IEC 17025; Managen the Institute under Quality Management system as per IS/ISO 9001:2015. Management of Admin & QC Activities, standardization of trail Drugs/Formulations in GMP pharmacy and its critical evaluations for QC & shelf-life studies. Development of Quality Standards for Single raw botanicals of various origin to generate BRS under National Raw Drug Repository sponsored by NMPB. Isolation for development of Markers; Development of SOPs & over all supervision of all projects running under CARI.

As a HOD Involved in standardization, QC activities for single & compound formulations for various matrices of ASU system; Isolation of phytocompounds; it’s qualitative & quantitative analysis. Supervised NABL & DTL activities as a Technical Manager at CSMRIADD, Chennai. ICMR-Quality Standards of Indian Medicinal Plants- 31 more monographs completed. Now focus on Development of SOP, Quality Standards for various ASU Formulations & QC. As Technical manger [Chemical] Supervised the laboratory QC laboratories with All parameters up to Heavy metals of all matrices of ASU drugs under scope of ISO/IEC 17025; maintained for April-2014 to May- 2019 & sep-2020 to feb-2023.

  • Trainee Chemist [R&D] at Dr. Reddy’s laboratories, Bollaram, Hyderabad: work for o-ofloxacin group anti biotics synthesis and pilot plant study. 
  • Research Contributions and Publications: Dr.Ch V Narasimhaji  has successfully handled Three EMR projects sponsored by ICMR, DST-NIF, NMPB etc.,  and More Than 20 IMR and involved in 12 collaborative projects with various institution such as CSIR-IIIM, CSIR-CIMAP, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Gandingar, BHU-Varanasi; CAFRI, Jhansi and BU-Jhansi etc., through MOU’ s for the execution various projects to execute Aggregation behaviors, Shodhana, Insilco studies of extracts , adulterations, DNA fingerprinting etc., and currently overseeing 6 ongoing projects.  32 Monographs and 3 book Chapters and 81 research articles, published in reputed international journals.
