Dr. D.S. Rotwar currently serves as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.a peripheral institute under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush Government of India, New Delhi. His academic journey began with the completion of his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) degree at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, affiliated with Rajasthan University, Jaipur, in 2000. His commitment to the field led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Dravya Guna Vijyana at the Institute for Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda, NIA Jaipur, which he completed in September 2005.
Prior to joining the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Dr. D.S. Rotwar gained valuable experience in various roles. He served as an Assistant Professor in the Dravya Guna Vijyana/Agadtantra Department at J.R. Tantia Sri Ganganagar College of Ayurvedic Sciences & Hospital, Sri Ganganagar, and at Sri Bhanwar Lal Duggad Ayurveda Medical College, Sardar Shahar, Rajasthan, from 2005 to 2009.
His research experience is extensive and impactful. He began his research career as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh (N.E.), from September 2009 to April 2013. He also served at the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Drug Development, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh 2013 to Dec. 2018, and the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Infectious Diseases, Patna, from January 2019 to August 2021, and the MS Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Jaipur (Raj.) Sept.2021 to May 2025. His current role in Gwalior allows him to continue his vital work in advancing Ayurvedic practices.
Dr. Rotwar has successfully completed Seven research projects as a Principal Investigator. These projects, including collaborations with the Governments of Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and the State Government of Rajasthan. Additionally, he has completed four research projects as a Co-Investigator. He has also published 10 research papers in various journals as an author/co-author and has contributed one book chapter as a co-author.
