Dr. Deepa Makhija is presently serving as Assistant Director (Ay.) at the Headquarters of Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS). She obtained her PhD in Samhita Siddhanta from Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research, Wardha. She completed her Post graduation in Basic Principles of Ayurveda from Govt. Ayurveda College, Trivendrum. She holds an M.A. in Sanskrit and Diploma in Yoga.
Prior to joining CCRAS, Dr. Makhija worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Principles at private Ayurvedic colleges for approximately one and a half years.
She joined Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences in December 2005 as Research Officer (Ay.). During her tenure at Central Ayurveda Research Institute, New Delhi, she served as Principal Investigator and Co-investigator in several fundamental & clinical- Intramural & Collaborative- research projects. She has authored and co-authored numerous research articles and contributed significantly to the drafting of clinical research protocols, technical reports and monographs, and review of articles.
Dr. Deepa Makhija is currently serving as Programme officer for Research Oriented Public Health Care Programmes of the Council viz. Ayurveda Mobile Health Care Programme (AMHCP,) operational through 15 institutes and Women and Child Health Care Programme (WCH) currently implemented through 10 institutes under the Scheduled Cast Sub Plan, Tribal Health Care Programme being executed through 14 institutes under Tribal Sub-Plan. She is also the Programme Coordinator for Ayurveda Health Centres (Extension OPD) functioning under various CCRAS institutes in the North-Eastern region of India. Since 2021, she has served as Programme Officer for more than 60 research projects under CCRAS.
