Dr. Emy S Surendran, MS (Ay) is a Research Officer (Ayurveda) of CCRAS since January 2017. She started her career at NARIP Cheruthuruthy in January 2017 and is currently working at RARI Thiruvananthapuram. She is an alumnus of Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. She specializes in Prasooti thantra evum Stree roga and was Assistant Professor at Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam, Kerala before joining with CCRAS.
She is an active team member of CCRAS and has been associated with outreach programme (SRP), reliability testing and validation of two Ayurvedic diagnostic tools, IMR projects, and collaborative research project of CCRAS as Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator. She is a reviewer for “STUDENTSHIP PROGRAM FOR AYURVEDA RESEARCH KEN (SPARK)” & PG STAR AYURVEDA of CCRAS. She executed “Poshan 2. 0 at CCI’s under Mission Vatsalya and the Distribution campaign of Prophylactic Ayush Medicines and Guidelines on Diet and Lifestyle with a special focus on the Geriatric population under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-India@75 as a Program Officer.
She has keen interest in participating various Ayurvedic Awareness activities and is regular in conducting awareness classes on Reproductive & menstrual health and organized yoga training camps for Adolescent girls of different schools and colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. As a subject expert, she provides classes on Ayurvedic management of various gynecologic diseases and imparts training on Utharavasthi & other procedures for Ayurvedic practitioners and students. She is the Member Secretary of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of RARI-Thiruvananthapuram and associate Editor in CCRAS News Bulletin.
She is a reviewer for various journals in Ayurveda. She has published 25 research papers in reputed journals and presented 7 papers in various national and international seminars. She won the Best Presentation award in 2018 for a paper presented at an International Conference organized by Postgraduate Centre, Mangalore University, Karnataka.
