Dr. Gajarmal Amit Ashok currently serves as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Patiala, Punjab, under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, New Delhi. He graduated with a BAMS from Ayurveda Seva Sangha’s Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Panchavati, under MUHS Nashik, Maharashtra, in 2011. He earned his M.D. (Ayurveda Vachaspati) in Dravyaguna Vigyana from Government Ayurved College (GAC), Nanded, under MUHS in 2015. He was also awarded a Ph.D. (Ayurveda Vidyavaridhi) in Dravyaguna Vigyana from the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur, under DSRRAU Jodhpur, for 2016-18. He has over six months of experience as an Assistant Professor at S.B.S.J.S.A.M.C.&H., Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, during 2015-16. He joined as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Patiala, Punjab, in January 2017. He worked at the Collaborative Research Centre for Veterinary Ayurveda (CRCVA) in the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, Punjab. He served as a Co-Principal Investigator on a project funded by CCRAS and NMPB, Ministry of AYUSH, to establish a Medicinal Plant Garden and Nursery at GADVASU. He was involved in clinical trials of coded Ayurvedic formulations for simple indigestion, milk augmentation and mastitis in ruminants. He also participated in Pashu Palak Melas, farmer training programs, field visits and worked as a collaborative scientist in the Farmer FIRST Project on “Integrated Approach for Livestock Development: Farmer’s Context”. Additionally, he was deputed as an Ayurveda doctor at the Cantonment Board
General Hospital in Dalhousie Cantonment, Himachal Pradesh, under the Ministry of Defence. In 2022, he was transferred back to CARI, Patiala. Dr. Amit has completed four research projects as a Co-investigator and one research project as a Principal Investigator. He has published an abstract book and co-authored another book. One reviewed chapter for the book is forthcoming. He has participated in more than 40 scientific seminars and workshops and has presented over 15 research papers at international seminars and conferences. Dr. Amit has published more than 30 research articles in international, national and regional journals. He is currently involved in pharmacological and literary research, focusing on publishing manuscripts. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for various international journals, including Toxicology International, JAIM and JDRAS
