Dr. Indu S completed her B.A.M.S. from Sree Narayana Institute of Ayurveda Studies and Research in 2011 and earned her M.D. in Ayurveda with a specialization in Rasastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana from Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, under Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, in 2015. She joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) in 2017 as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma (NARIP), Cheruturuthy, and is currently posted at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Bhubaneswar.
Dr. Indu has undergone extensive training in public health research at the Indian Institute of Public Health, New Delhi; preclinical pharmacology and toxicology at the National Institute of Nutrition – ICMR, Hyderabad; and Ayur Informatics at Savitribai Phule Pune University. She is a certified Master Trainer of the Standardized Prakriti Assessment Scale with the AYUR Prakriti web portal and has completed specialized training in Marma Chikitsa from NARIP, Cheruturuthy.
As a dedicated researcher, Dr. Indu has significant experience in handling clinical research projects related to Rheumatoid Arthritis, Grahani, PCOD, Functional Dyspepsia, Anemia, and Perceived Stress. She has also served as an investigator for various public health research initiatives, including the Ayurveda Mobile Health Care Programme under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan. Her work in fundamental research includes exploring the molecular signatures of Prakriti through profiling mito-nuclear gene variations and utilizing a systems biology approach to understand Prakriti.
In addition to her research responsibilities, Dr. Indu plays a pivotal role as the Quality Manager of NABH at CARI, Bhubaneswar. She has presented her work at numerous national and international seminars and has published over 25 research papers in reputed national and international journals. Dr. Indu also serves as a reviewer for three national indexed journals.
Her primary research interests lie in fundamental research, clinical research, and pharmacological and pharmaceutical studies, where she continues to contribute to the advancement of Ayurvedic science through her dedicated work.
