Academic Background
Dr. Karishma Singh graduated from Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, University of Delhi. She completed her M.D. (Panchakarma) in 2017 from the Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (IPGT&RA), (now, ITRA) Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, with her postgraduate research focusing on Hypothyroidism. She subsequently earned her Ph.D. (Panchakarma) from the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, with her doctoral research on Ankylosing Spondylitis.
Research Contributions
During her Ph.D. tenure, Dr. Singh was actively involved in research projects as Research Associate and Co-Investigator. She has published 16 research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals and has authored one book on Basti, contributing to the academic literature in Panchakarma. She has also presented numerous research papers and posters at National and International Conferences/ Seminars. Dr. Karishma Singh serves as a reviewer for National and International peer-reviewed journals.
Professional Experience & Administrative Contributions
Dr. Karishma Singh served as House Physician/House Surgeon at Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, Delhi. She joined the CCRAS in 2021, with her initial posting at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Lucknow, where she was involved in research and clinical activities in accordance with the mandate of the Council.
In February 2022, she was temporarily attached with the Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi, and served in the Ayush Development Section. During her tenure at the Ministry, she was engaged in coordination and administrative work related to Ayush development initiatives, including inter-ministerial coordination for integration of Ayush. Her responsibilities included coordination with Ministries, Councils, and Institutes; support in implementation and monitoring of programmes and activities; and assistance in organisation of national-level events and initiatives. Her role at the Ministry primarily focused on policy support, programme coordination, and administrative facilitation. She rejoined CCRAS in January 2026 and continues to contribute to the Council’s research and development activities.
Awards and Recognition
Dr. Karishma Singh has been conferred the Award of Excellence by the Integrated Medical Association (AYUS) during graduation. She has also received recognition from Shri Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan Pvt. Ltd during her graduation. In addition, she has received awards and prizes for research paper and poster presentations at various national and International scientific conferences/ seminars.
