Dr. Soumya M.C. is an Ayurvedic professional with expertise spanning drug research, literary research, and clinical research; she completed her BAMS degree from Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in 2009, followed by an MD (Ayurveda) in Dravyaguna vijnana from the same institution in 2013, and began her academic career as an Assistant Professor at Government Ayurveda College, Kannur (2014–2016), later serving as a Specialist Medical Officer under the National Ayush Mission’s Ayurgram project at the Government Ayurveda dispensary in Kunnathukal, Thiruvananthapuram; in 2017, she joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) as a Research Officer at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, contributing to various IMR, EMR, and collaborative research projects, and in 2024, she transitioned to the Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Chennai, where she currently works in the pharmacy section as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on multiple IMR and collaborative projects, having successfully completed eight and continuing work on eight more, while also engaging in literary research, publishing over twelve papers in national and international journals, presenting at global conferences, reviewing for scientific journals and the erstwhile EMR Scheme of the Ministry of Ayush, and maintaining active membership in the Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI).
