Dr. Parvathy G. Nair is currently serving as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma (NARIP), Cheruthuruthy, a peripheral institute under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. She is presently in charge of the Institute Pharmacy section and actively involved in the execution of IMR and collaborative research projects.
She obtained her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Alvas Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri, Karnataka, in 2011, and completed her Post-Graduation (M.D. Ayurveda) in Dravyaguna Vigyana from the Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram, in 2015. Dr Parvathy began her career with CCRAS in 2017 as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at NARIP, Cheruthuruthy, and later served at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute for Drug Development, Kolkata, West Bengal, in 2019.
Her research interests include drug standardization, medicinal plant research, and Ayurvedic pharmaceutics, with a focus on developing scientifically validated herbal formulations. She is currently the Principal Investigator of five IMR/collaborative projects under CCRAS and has extensive experience in medico-ethnobotanical surveys and public outreach programs, such as the Ayurveda Mobile Healthcare Programme (AMHCP-SCSP) and the Reproductive and Child Health Programme (RCH-SCSP).
Dr Parvathy has undergone several capacity-building programs, including Ayurinformatics Training at Savitribai Phule University, Pune, and Information Technology Training for AYUSH Professionals at C-DAC, Pune, conducted by the Ministry of Ayush. She also holds an e-Postgraduate Diploma in Epidemiology from the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), Delhi.
She has published 26 research papers in reputable journals and contributed five book chapters to leading publishers, including Elsevier, Springer, and Bentham Science. She is also the author of the book “Clinical Application of Rasayana in Modern Times,” published by Arya Vaidya Shala Publications, Kottakal, and has presented papers in several national and international seminars.
