Dr. Rajendra Paliwal

Dr. Rajendra Paliwal is currently working as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) at Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Bengaluru, Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. His roles and responsibilities include planning, executing and coordinating research projects related to clinical research. He joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, in 2021.

Presently, he is associated as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator (CoI) in the institute’s IMR and Collaborative research projects. He provides health consultation services and manages the pharmacy at the institute. Additionally, he is a NABH Coordinator and nodal officer for E-Office, SPARROW Portal & NAMASTE Portal. He is the Hindi Officer of the institute and is involved in coordinating work related to implementing provisions of the official language in the institute. Previously, he also worked as an Ayurveda Medical Officer (AMO) at Cantonment Board General Hospital, Belgavi, under the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India.

He completed his BAMS from the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur, affiliated with Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurveda University (Dr. SRRAU) Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He holds an MS (Ay.) and a PhD (Ay.) degree in Shalya Tantra (General Surgery) specialty of Ayurveda. He also completed a Certificate Course on Marma Chikitsa from NARIP, Cheruthuruthy. He has a membership of the National Sushruta Association (NSA), a professional body of people from Shalya Tantra specialty of Ayurveda. 

Additionally, He has also done some online certificate courses including Basic Course of Bio-Medical Research (BCBR) from National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE)- Indian Council of Medical  Research (ICMR), Chennai; Introduction to Principle & Practice of Clinical Research from National Institute of Health (NIH), Maryland, United States (US); Research Integrity & Publication Ethics from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune; Global Integrated Certificate Course on Nephro-Urology from Association of Ayurvedic Practitioners & Mumbai Kidney Foundation; Course on Computer Concept (CCC) from National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), New Delhi.

He has published several research articles in Biomedical journals. He has also authored two books- Shodha Siddhanta: Handbook of Research Methodology & Biostatistics; Ayurveda & Conventional Medicine: Cross Referral Approach for Select Disease Conditions. He is interested in pre-clinical & clinical research in public health, metabolic disorders and Shalya Tantra (General Surgery & Musculoskeletal disorders).
