Dr. Sarada Ota is a physician-scientist, with specialization in Prasuti Tantra & Streeroga (MD: Prasuti Tantra & Streeroga: Institute of Post-graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda, ujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar). She joined Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi in 2005 and currently working as Assistant Director (Ayurveda) at CCRAS-Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Bhubaneswar.
She has demonstrated leadership in Women & Child health research especially Polycystic Ovarian Syndroms, Antenatal and post natal care through Ayurveda, Infertility, Abnormal Uterine bleeding, Dysmenorrhoea and Leucorrhoea, Anaemia control program in Adolescent girls & malnutrition in children and translating research to public health policy in past two decades.
Besides these, she has also work experience in public health research under Schedule Caste Sub-Plan program of CCRAS. She has a significant contribution in the drug development program of CCRAS specially related to Women & Child health and Scikle cell Anemia. She has pivotal role in developing the Standard Operative Procedures for assessment of Prakriti (Human constitution), a fundamental research project of CCRAS/Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India. She has ample of experience to coordinate various Research Scheme/ Program of Ministry of AYush viz. Extra-Mural Research Scheme, Golden Triangle Partnership Program & program related to Tribal health.
Her scholarly achievements are noteworthy; she has 65 articles published in various national and international peer-reviewed journals that span a wide variety of subjects mainly related to women & child health, Drug development, public health & fundamental research. These writings demonstrate her important contribution to the development of Ayurvedic theory and practice.
