Dr. Aswathi Mohan P, MD (Ay.), Ph.D, joined as Research Officer (Ayurveda) in Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) on 08.03.2021. She is currently posted at National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma (NARIP), Cheruthuruthy, Kerala. Dr. Aswathi Mohan completed her BAMS from Vaidyarathnam P. S. Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal, Kerala; Post Graduate degree, MD (Ay) in Dravyaguna Vigyana, from Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram and Ph.D in Dravyaguna from Institute of Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (IPGT & RA), Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar. Before joining the council, she worked as Assistant Professor in Dravyaguna at Ashtamgam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam and Vidhyapeedam, Palakkad, Kerala for two years. She began her career in CCRAS as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CSMCARI), Chennai.
She has been actively involved as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in various Intramural Research (IMR) projects, particularly in the areas of medicinal plant research, drug standardisation, and ethnomedicine. She has also contributed to academic and scientific activities of CCRAS, including serving as a member of the Editorial Board for a special issue of the Journal of Drug Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (JDRAS).
She has served as a reviewer for various CCRAS research and academic programmes, including SPARK (Students’ Programme for Ayurveda Research Knowledge), PG-STAR (Post Graduate Students’ Training in Ayurveda Research), PRAYATNA (CCRAS initiative for fostering scientific writing skills in Ayurveda), and the Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Programme, contributing to the scientific evaluation and review of research proposals and academic activities. She has also participated in various training programmes, continuing professional development activities, scientific meetings, conferences, workshops, and academic programmes related to Ayurveda and Ayurveda research. Her areas of research interest include medicinal plant research, ethnomedicine and standardisation.
