Dr. Savita Sharma

Dr. Savita Sharma is currently working as Assistant Director (Ayurveda) at Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Amkho, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh; a peripheral institute under Central Council for Research inAyurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, New Delhi. Her roles and responsibilities mainly include; providing clinical care in the OPD/IPD at the institute’s hospital, drafting new clinical research proposals, executing assigned IMR/EMR/Collaborative clinical research projects and complying with work assigned as chairperson or member of different committees at the Institute. She serves as the Chairperson for Ayurveda section, Technical committee, Vishakha committee, NABH committees, Grievance committee, Medical bill verification committee, PhD recognition committee, Nodal officer for Social media, member of SPARK project evaluation committee, Gem DDO, DSC approver etc. at the Institute. She has delivered lectures as a subject expert and guest speaker in ROTPs and CMEs conducted by the Ayurveda Colleges in Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Bhopal and Gwalior. She has served as a member of ethics committee at Bhausaheb Mulak Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur, and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Institute Ethical Committee of L N Ayurveda College, Bhopal.
She has completed her M.D. in Kayachikitsa and Ph.D. in Ayurveda from Amravati University, Amravati (Maharashtra). In addition, she has acquired Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management (PGDHM) from National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi during the academic year 2012-13.
She joined the Central Council for Research inAyurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush in the year 2004, as a Senior Research Fellow (Ayurveda) and as a Research Officer (Ayurveda) in 2005. She has served as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at CCRAS Headquarters, New Delhi, Ministry of Ayush as well as three Peripheral Institutes of CCRAS; Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Nagpur, Jammu and Gwalior. Her research focus is on clinical research, Panchkarma and chronic debilitating diseases.
She has been actively involved in IMR/EMR/Collaborative Research projects and outreach projects i.e. THCRP, SCSP, SRP, RCH as a Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator and completed more than 16 projects & currently having one ongoing & one approved project.
She has participated in various training programs, including Research Methodology training by WHO, GCP training by NIDA, Advance Techno Management Program sponsored by DST for 13 Women Scientists of India in 2014 at MDI Campus, Gurgaon and has attended various other trainings from time to time.
She has published more than 45 research papers and articles in National and International Journals, and contributed 10 chapters to various Books. Additionally, she has presented scientific papers at numerous National and International seminars and conferences and has attended over 60 seminars and workshops.
