Dr. Sree Deepthi G N is currently working as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. She is an expert in Dravyagunavijnana, currently focusing on fundamental research through a multidisciplinary approach. Her roles and responsibilities mainly include clinical research, fundamental research, Ayurgenomics research, Drug research and providing patient care through in-patient and outpatient departments.
She completed her BAMS degree from Kerala University, Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram and postgraduation, MD (Ayurveda) in Dravyagunavijnana from Kerala University of Health Sciences, Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. She served as a Specialist Medical Officer (Ayurveda) at Employees State Insurance Corporation, Asramom, Kollam, Kerala, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, in 2014 and then served as Specialist Medical Officer (Ayurveda) in the Ayurgram project under the National Ayush Mission at Government Ayurveda dispensary, Paravur, Kollam, Kerala. Her research journey as a scientist at the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, started in the year 2017 when she joined as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Skin
Disorders, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. There she worked on clinical research focusing on skin disorders. She worked as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma, Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur, Kerala, for over five years. Her research at NARIP, Cheruthuruthy focused on clinical research, drug research and medicinal plant research, and extended patient care through OPD and IPD sections. At NARIP, Cheruthuruthy handled Intramural Research Projects such as clinical research, literature research like Systematic Review and Meta-analysis, Collaborative research projects like fundamental exploratory research focusing on the Systems biology approach on delineating the molecular signatures of Prakriti, validation of Ayurvedic principles, etc. She also handled Extra Mural research project on medicinal plant cultivation funded by the National Medicinal Plants Board and also conducted Medico ethnobotanical survey studies and documentation studies. She worked as a faculty of the Certificate Course in Panchakarma Therapy and Panchakarma Technician Course of CCRAS during her tenure at the National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma. She has completed more than 10 research projects.
At Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, she has been working at the clinical research section, actively involved in IMR/Collaborative Research projects as Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator and executing an Ayurgenomics project as principal investigator in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. She is also involved in medicinal plant research, undertaking ethnobotanical survey studies and documentation, Pharmacovigilance studies, Observational studies and clinical research studies in addition to the services being provided to the patients of OPD and IPD sections.
She has published over 20 research papers in international/national journals and presented scientific papers at international seminars/conferences.
She is a reviewer of Scientific journals of CCRAS and served as a reviewer of the PG STAR program of the Ministry of Ayush, the CCRAS SPARK program of the Ministry of Ayush, the Ayurgyan Scheme, erstwhile EMR Scheme of the Ministry of Ayush (MoA), etc. She also holds membership in the Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI).
