Dr. Sudesh N. Gaidhani

Dr. Sudesh N. Gaidhani, Assistant Director (Pharmacology) presently working as Assistant Director (Pharmacology) in NARIP, Cheruthuruthy, Kerala, Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi. He joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush in the year 2003, as Research Officer (Pharmacology) at Central Research Institute for Siddha, Chennai. During the year 2006-2020 he was working as Assistant Director (Pharmacology) and Programme officer of Pre-clinical/Pharmacology Division, Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, New Delhi. He has been appointed as Professor of Practice at NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manglore, Karnataka during the year 2023. He is a researcher and worked in area of Ethanopharmacology and Ayurveda mainly involved in toxicity studies of the Siddha drugs in the National Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) Programme at the Primary Health Care (PHC) level, Pharmacological and Toxicity studies of Herbal/Herbo-mineral preparations, evaluating Safety/Toxicity of ISM Drugs-particularly of Rasa Preparations (Bhasmas of Ayurveda), involved in evaluating Chemical and Safety/toxicity profile of Ayurvedic compound drugs. He has contributed in HPTLC- Fingerprint atlas of Ayurvedic Single Plant Drugs mentioned in Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia Vol- III and IV submitted to WHO. He is also a convener of IPR & BD Cell of CCRAS and actively involved in facilitating or supervising the Patenting & Commercialization of CCRAS research products. His roles and responsibilities mainly include coordination of IMR/EMR/Collaborative projects and Drug Development Section. He has also been actively involved in IMR/EMR/Collaborative Research projects as Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator and completed more than 50 projects. He has also been actively involved in the work of Veterinary Ayurveda.

He has published more than 90 research/review articles in national/international journals and more than 30 research abstracts and 20 Book Chapters/Reports. Additionally, he has also organized more than 25 Seminar/ Conference/ Workshop/ Webinars. He has also participated in several scientific events/seminars & presented paper in more than 100 National/International Events. He was member of editorial board for Journal of Drug Research in Ayurvedic Sciences and member of editorial board of Indian Journal of Natural Products and Resources (IJNPR) 
[Formerly Natural Product Radiance (NPR)], CSIR-NISCAIR, IJNPR. He has serving as reviewer for various Journals like International Journal of Ayurveda Research (IJAR), Journal of Medicinal & Aromatic Plant Sciences (JMAPS), Indian Journal of Natural Products and Resources (NISCAIR), Journal of Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Sciences (JMAPS) and Journal of Ethnopharmacology. He is also acting as a CCSEA nominee. He also holds Membership in associations like Life member of Indian Pharmacological Society, Toxicology International. He was member of Institutional Ethics Committee, Siddha Clinical Research Unit, A and U Tibbia College campus, Karol Bagh, New Delhi and Ch. Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan, Khera Dabur, Najafgarh, New Delhi.He has served as member of ICAR Committee to develop the syllabus for post graduate in Ayurvedic Veterinary Medicine. He has one of the contributor in joint patent for Ayush SC3 and Ayush D.
