Dr. Vaibhav Charde is a Research Officer (Ayurveda) and Head of the Pharmacy Department
at the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush,
Government of India. Currently stationed at the Central Ayurveda Research Institute
(CCRAS-CARI) in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, he directs institutional research and development
initiatives, focusing on the manufacturing of research drugs for Intramural (IMR), Extramural
(EMR), and collaborative projects. Driven by the vision of “bridging the gap between
Ayurveda and modern science through rigorous pharmaceutical research, quality standards,
and translational innovation,” Dr. Vaibhav has positioned his laboratory at the forefront of
integrative medicine, contributing to high-impact scientific literature, including articles
published in journals with an impact factor of 20.
A gold medalist in his MD program at the Institute of Postgraduate Teaching & Research in
Ayurveda (IPGT&RA), Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, Dr. Vaibhav brings over
seven years of professional research experience to his role. His scientific methodology
centers on translating Ayurvedic literature and local health traditions into scientifically
validated therapeutics. He employs a rigorous, multi-disciplinary approach encompassing
pharmaceutical standardization, advanced method development, stability testing, in vitro
assays, and preclinical safety evaluations to facilitate the comprehensive development of
phytopharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.
Dr. Vaibhav has been instrumental in advancing institutional infrastructure, notably
spearheading the establishment of a state-of-the-art Drug Development facility at CCRAS-
CARI. This complex includes a GMP-certified pharmacy, a National Raw Drug Repository
(NRDR) facility, and an NABL/DTL-accredited analytical laboratory. During his tenure, the
institute has become a premier center uniquely equipped to conduct exhaustive, in-house
quality control analyses for ASU (Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani) formulations, including
manufacturing and rigorous testing for heavy metals, pesticides, and aflatoxins. His
exceptional contributions to establishing sophisticated, regulatory-compliant

facilities—aligning with WHO, NABL, and D&C Act guidelines—have been formally
recognized with an appreciation award from the Director General of CCRAS.
Demonstrating a strong capacity for interdisciplinary research, Dr. Vaibhav has successfully
executed numerous funded research initiatives, serving as Principal Investigator for over 15
completed projects and Co-Investigator for more than 30. His collaborative network spans
prestigious national institutions, including CSIR laboratories (NBRI and CDRI, Lucknow),
IITs (Gandhinagar and Delhi), and CDAC-Pune. Beyond research execution, he is highly
dedicated to scientific capacity building. He has organized and led specialized training
programs that have benefited over 200 scholars, published more than 30 research papers in
high-impact indexed journals, and actively serves as a peer reviewer for multiple SCI-indexed publications.
