Dr. Vilas Gangurde is currently working as Research officer In-charge at Regional Ayurveda Research centre, Dimapur, Nagaland under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, New Delhi. He joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush in the year 2011, as Research Officer (Ayurveda) at ACDRI (now Central Ayurveda Research Institute/CARI), Ahmedabad.

Presently working as an In-charge of Regional Ayurveda Research centre, Dimapur, Nagaland, with roles and responsibilities mainly including Administrative and establishment of centre as well as technical works in terms of standard services through OPD section, conducting several Free medical camps, organized various programmes allotted by CCRAS for public benefits. Actively involved in IMR/EMR projects, coordination of Collaborative projects, management of each section, and overall to establish and develop a well known research centre in Nagaland. Worked as a PI for Medico Ethano-Botanical Survey project and as Co-I for Ethnobotany (EMR) & collaborative project with NIPER-Guwahati. Organized and conducted several National Seminars on various topics like Herbal Drug research as well as Pharmacovigilance for ASU drugs. Served as a member for 15th Common Review Mission (CRM) under NAM through MoH&FW.

His previous tenure, worked as PI in various Research projects related to Public Health as NPCDCS in Surendranagar district and AMHCP-SCSP at Ahmedabad for Execution, Evaluation and monitoring. He has also handled  03 Clinical IMR projects as Principal Investigator & Co-Investigator at Ahmedabad. Drafted Monograph for research project of Type II Diabetes mellitus (Madhumeha). Other than clinical work contributed in other projects as Retrospective Pharmaco-epidemiological study on safety and effectiveness of Rasaushadhis; Implementation ofAYUSH – Hospital Management Information System (A-HMIS); Programme Coordinator of  Pharmacovigilance program.  He was also part of different committees as Hindi officer, Swachata Campion, Ayurveda Day Celebration, Arogya Expo etc. He was also part of organizing committee to organized seminars, workshops, training programs and webinars in Ahmedabad institute. Conducted One day Workshop “Traditional practices by Bhagats  and Medicinal wealth of Dang district”, Ahwa, Dang, Gujarat organized by RARISD, Ahmedabad. As a Co-chairperson for Paper presentation at Ayurveda Parv 2017-18 in Ahmedabad.

He had published more than 10 articles (As Author & Co-author) in National as well as International journals. Participated in more than 50 seminars or workshops. Additionally, he has also presented scientific paper at several events like during 3rd International Conference on Traditional Medicine and Modern Medical Health Care at Bangkok, Thailand 2019, at AYURVEDA PARVA 2022, Imphal, Manipur etc.  Reviewer of a peer-reviewed, print and online Quarterly open access journal.

Core interest research areas as clinical studies mainly for Lifestyle diosrders, Hepato-biliary diorders, Etanomedicine and various Public Health programs.
