Dr.Vipin Kumar Sharma is a Research Officer (Ayu.) and Scientist-III. He was born on January 9, 1971.
Education and Experience
Dr. Sharma holds a B.A.M.S. degree from Govt. Ayurveda college, Gwalior (Jiwaji University, Gwalior), obtained in 1996, and an M.D. (Ay.) from NIA (Rajasthan University), Jaipur, obtained in 2002.
His professional journey includes working as an Ayurveda Expert at NISCAIR (CSIR) for the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL) from October 2002 to April 2008, where he documented Ayurveda literature to prevent false patents. He served as an Ayurveda Consultant in the Ministry of AYUSH from April 2008 to September 2009, involved in administrative activities. He then worked as a Research Officer (Ay.) at the Ministry of AYUSH/CCRAS, HQ, Delhi, from September 2009 to April 2021, coordinating administrative and research activities. From April 2021 to June 2025, he was a Research Officer (Ay.) at RARI, Jammu, serving as a Principal Investigator in the Tribal HealthCare Research Program (THCRP) and a Co-Investigator in an IMR project on ‘Clinical evaluation of Gokshuradi Guggulu and Nimbadi Churna in Vatarakta (Gout)’. Since June 2025, he has been a Research Officer (Ay.) at CARI, Mumbai.
Research Focus and Projects.
His research specialization lies in Clinical Research, Standardization, and Drug Research. He has handled research projects at CARI Jammu as Principal Investigator (PI) are the Tribal HealthCare Research Program and Documentation of Life Profiles of Admirable Personalities to Transform Ayurveda. He is also a Co-Investigator in an IMR project on Vatarakta (Gout) and a collaborative project on general health screening and Ayurvedic interventions in students of Ekalavya Residential Model Schools.
Publications
Dr. Sharma has authored numerous Technical Reports on Health-Related Demography under SRP and SCSP projects. Key publications include a report on ‘Health and Demographic Indicators of selected Districts of India: an impact of Swasthya Rakshan Programme (SRP)’ and a research article on ‘Safety and Prescription Trends of Rasa Aushadhis’. He also contributed to a cross-sectional analysis on the use of AYUSH-64 in COVID-19 Patients.
