Mr. Kalyan Hazra

KalyanHazra is currently working as Research Officer (Chemistry) at CCRAS-CARI Kolkata. His roles and responsibilities mainly include the handling of various research projects related to the drug development, standardization, pharmaceutical research and isolation of the markers. He is holding the post of Quality Manager in NABL (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) accreditated laboratories of CARI, Kolkata.

He obtained his M.Sc. (Chemistry) degree from University of Pune in the year 2002.

Before joining the present service he served as a Chemist in Cipla Ltd. He worked with West Bengal Pollution Control Board affiliated laboratory as a Junior Chemist. He joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush in the year 2006, as Research Assistant (Chemistry) at Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Kolkata. He has published more than 45 research articles in international/national journals, 02 book chapters and holds 02 Indian patents. He has also presented more than 20 scientific papers in international seminars/conferences and attended more than 100 seminars, workshops and trainings. He serves as a reviewer for 7 International journal and 05 National Journal of repute. He was awarded with PD Shetty Memorial National Award for Best HPTLC paper in 2021. His filed of interest is Planar chromatography especially High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC).
