Vd Jaiprakash Ram has dedicated over 16 years to the field of Ayurveda, seamlessly integrating both academic and research expertise. His journey in Ayurveda began with a B.A.M.S. from BS Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Sawantwadi, under Mumbai University, which provided a solid foundation for his M.D. in Kayachikitsa from KGM Punarvasu Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. His academic pursuit culminated in a Ph.D. in Kayachikitsa from Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, underscoring his deep commitment to advancing Ayurvedic knowledge.
Throughout his career, Vd Jaiprakash Ram has held various academic positions, advancing from Lecturer roles in Swasthavritta and Kayachikitsa to Reader and ultimately Associate Professor in Kaumarbhritya. His teaching journey has taken him through several prestigious institutions, where he has made significant contributions to Ayurvedic education.
Since 2017, he has served as a Research Officer (Ayu) at the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS). His work has spanned from the Central Ayurved Research Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases (CARICD) in New Delhi to the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) in Ahmedabad. Vd Jaiprakash Ram has managed various clinical research projects focusing on Psoriasis, Rasaushadhi, and lifestyle disorders. He has also played a key role in developing Ayurveda-based clinical methods for examining Jvara, Shvasa, Kasa, Prameha, and skin diseases. Additionally, he was instrumental in the development of the Swasthya Assessment Scale, a significant tool developed by CCRAS.
With over 8 years of teaching experience and more than 7 years in research, Vd Jaiprakash Ram has developed a profound expertise in Ayurveda, particularly in Kayachikitsa. He has a special interest in Charaka Samhita and the fundamental principles of Ayurveda, with a key goal of teaching Charaka Samhita with its original Chakrapani Datta’s commentary, aiming to preserve and pass on its authentic wisdom to future generations.
Vd Jaiprakash Ram is now eager to continue contributing to the field as an Associate Professor, leveraging his extensive knowledge, experience, and research insights to further the study and practice of Ayurveda.
