Dr. Debajyoti Das has completed BAMS and MD (Ay.) degree from university of Calcutta. He has started his carrier as lecturer at Rajib Gandhi Memorial Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Kankinara, North 24 Pgs for 04 years 09 months and then joined as lecturer in Bengal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kalyani, Nadia, W.B.

He has joined as Research Officer (Ay.) under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, New Delhi in 2009. He is presently working as Research Officer (Ay.) at Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Kolkata. His role and responsibilities mainly attending of OPD and IPD in Hospital including clinical research projects and conducting of different programme/activities like celebration of Poshan day/month programme, celebration of Ayurveda Day, Yoga Day, Swachhata programme, different Health camp, Health Mela/ exhibitions etc. He is involved as Associate coordinator of Pharmacovigilance programme initiative for ASU &H Drugs under the Central Sector Scheme of Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta Evum Utpadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY) at CARI, Kolkata since 2018.

He is actively involved in IMR and Outreach projects as principle investigator / co-investigator. He has completed more than 15 projects and completed 03 outreach projects like Reproductive and Child Health Care Programme under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (RCH-SCSP), Tribal Health Care Research Project under Tribal Sub Plan (THCRP), Ayurveda Mobile Health care Programme under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan as principle investigator and 06 Drug standardization study as Co-investigator from 2014 to 2019 and now involved as Co-investigator in Ayurveda Mobile Health care Programme under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan and 05 Drug standardization study. 

He has served as Research Officer (Ay.) at various peripheral institutes of CCRAS i.e CARI Kolkata, Dr. ALRCA, Chennai, RARI, Port Blair and RARI, Agartala. He also performed his duty in deputation from 01.06.2022 to 04.11.2022 at Cantonment General Hospital, Sadar bazar, Bareilly under Ministry of Defence as deployment of Ayurveda Doctors instructed by Ministry of Ayush.

He was the HOD of Pharmacy department of the CARI Kolkata during 2009 to 2014. He supervised various preparation and formulations like Tablet, Capsules, Churna. Oils, Ointment, for OPD & IPD patients, SOP project, RCH projects, Hqrs. Projects, Chemistry and Pharmacology Department of this institute. Now he look after day to day inspection of finished products and authentication of crude drugs of the Pharmacy department of this Institute.

He has participated in more than 25 Health Mela/ National Arogya Fair/National exhibition and various health check-up camps and medical related awareness camps from time to time. He is interviewed more than 10 health and disease related programme of Door Darshan Bangla and 03 Radio Akashbani programme. He has published more than 30 (thirty) articles regarding health and diseases in different health magazines.

He has performed invigilation duty several times in theoretical Examination of different  professionals of BAMS, BUMS, BPT under West Bengal University of Health sciences, Kolkata. He has appointed as an external examiner under west Bengal University of Health sciences, Kolkata for the ensuing BAMS examination.

He has given and guided more than 12 training and demonstrated visitors, students, research scholars, pharmacy students about the activities of pharmacy department (CARI, Kolkata) and demonstrated the medicinal plants in Herbal garden of the Institute time to time. He has participated in more than 30 scientific training programme. He has undergone 12 week foundation training programme for scientist and Technologies at Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi (Sponsored by DST, Govt. of India) from 9/11/2009 to 29/1/2010.

He has published more than 50 research papers in different National, International Journals; two monographs in the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia on India and the Ayurvedic formulary of India in 2021, Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy 2020, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. He has also presented more than 20 scientific research papers in National, International seminar / conference, organized more than 10 seminar / conference, workshop / webinars and attendant more than 50 seminar / workshop /Conference etc.
