Dr. Sakshi Sharma is BAMS, M.D, Ph.D. in Dravyaguna, With having 23 years of academic and research experience currently working as Research Officer (Ay.) in Central Ayurveda Research Institute, New Delhi under CCRAS (Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences) which is an apex organization in India for Research in Ayurvedic sciences under ministry of AYUSH. She has completed her BAMS from Shri Krishna Govt. Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra in the year of 1995. She has completed her M.D. from KGMP Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai University in the year of 2001 and completed Ph.D. from Guru Ravidas University, Hoshiarpur Punjab recently in April 2024.
She has started her career in Year 2001 as Assistant Professor till 2006 and then promoted as Associate Professor and Head of the Department in Ch. Devilal College of Ayurveda, Yamunanagar Haryana. She also served as Hospital Incharge as additional charge since 2003 to 2009. During her academic tenure of 8 years, she has also worked as Associate professor and Head of the Department in the Department of Dravyaguna at CBPACS under Government of NCT of Delhi on lien basis in year 2012-13.
Dr. Sharma has joined the CCRAS as Research Officer (Ay.) in September 2009. While working in CARI, New Delhi, she handled 19 IMR and collaborative Research projects as principal investigator and co-investigator in collaboration of AIIMS New Delhi and Safdarjung hospitals based on healthy ageing, Cardiac disorders and Musculoskeletal Disorders.
She has significantly contributed as committee member in Development of Prakriti and Health Assessment Tools of CCRAS on fundamental Research.
She has almost 30 paper presentations in various National and International Seminars/Workshops, as presenter/invited speaker as well as chaired and co-chaired scientific sessions of seminars and workshops. Having 35 publications in her credential published in peer reviewed national and international journals and one book on Dravyaguna as co-author, chapters in Panchkarma training Modules contributed in CCRAS guideline series III “General Guidelines for Clinical evaluation of Ayurvedic Interventions”, Dr Sharma also contributed as associate Editor in Svasthya Assessment Scale(SAS) Health Manual Development. She has also served in BIS, Bureau of Indian standards New Delhi as scientist-D in year 2022-23 and worked in core area of making the BIS and ISO standards in the recently established Ayush department of BIS.
She has undergone a specialize administrative training for the duration of 3 months conducted by IIPA(Indian Institute of Public Administration), sponsored by DST(Dept. of Science and Technology) in the year of 2009-2010.
Dr. Sharma has also worked as Nominated Member of WHO Guideline Development Group (GDG) for chronic Low Backpain for two years since 2021 to 2022 and contributed in Guideline development which is published and launched in December 2023 from WHO office Geneva.
